15% of the world lives without running water
25% of the world lives with no fridge
42% of the world lives without flushing toilets
After many hours of traveling I finally made it back to Vancouver! Stephen was at the airport to greet me and we have been catching up ever since. It’s lovely to be home but it’s so different from my life the past 6 months that it’s a bit of an adjustment.
In the interest of making the transition back to my spoiled life a smooth one I’ve decided to continue my blog for a bit. I have several posts I’ve been meaning to put up so I’m going to pretend I’m not home just yet and finish them up now that I have nothing but time on my hands :) The Kenya adventure continues!
Happy Thanksgiving! We're having a great time but missing you and all the kids. After dinner, Bruce, Jim and I had a good conversation about football and government while the rest napped. What am I thankful for besides running water? You and our wonderful family. All my love, Mom.
ReplyDeleteErin: I voted for water, though I do love toilets. I definitely see the value of a refrigerator. Dang. All of those things are SO important. But people are much more so. Love from here! Amanda
ReplyDeletePS. Are you getting enough to eat? Are you hungry? Do you get to run?
ReplyDeleteAmanda, I would have pegged you for a toilet person for sure. I think I'm getting enough to eat. But I went to Nairobi this weekend and ate like a pig so maybe not. I was probably just overexcited at the availability of my 2 favorite food groups: cheese and ice cream :)
